O Brown Will Be On Uncensored Net Noise March 20, 2009 10pm Eastern
The Birth of O Brown's solo career began in 2003 with the tragic death of his rap partner/best friend. This tragedy stopped his group "Trilogy" from moving forward. The struggle and pain inspired O Brown to start recording solo immediately, turning a negative in to a positive.
In 2005 he was asked by "B REAL" of "Cypress Hill" to rap on volume 1 of his "Gunslingers" mixtape. O Brown then recorded his first single "Los Angeles" featuring "B REAL" of "Cypress Hill", produced by "XL". Shortly after recording, the music video "Los Angeles" was shot. It was directed by Hugo V. and six 14 productions. It dropped on youtube, myspace and L.A. TV. O Brown was interviewed on "Power106" and "Los Angeles" was aired on the radio, giving O Brown a huge buzz.
O Brown was then nominated at the 15th annual Los Angeles Music Awards, at The Music Box Theatre and won the Independent Hip Hop artist of the year award. The recording of the "L.A." remix featuring Bishop Lamont dropped in 2006 on Ill Street Dues 3 mixtape- Next to blow section, hosted by DJ Warrior, Talib Kweli and Glasses Malone.
O Brown next, shared more verses On B REAL's, The Gunslingers mixtape volume 2, and then performed alongside "B REAL" at Rock the Bells, in front of 65,000 + fans.
In 2007, O Brown was called by Rime Magazine to do a one page spread in the Draft Pick section with Ice Cube and Too Short on the front Covers. O Brown then recorded "Last Day Ballin' ". When the record was completed in the studio, "DJ Baby Gee" took it the very next day to "The Goodfellas". The record broke at 8pm on a Friday on "KDAY".
O Brown then recorded "Sky is Grey", a "Mama's and Papa's" sample, immediately shooting a video directed and produced by the URC. This caught the attention of Interscope records. His latest single "Sex in the Air" broke on "Kjlh" 102.3 FM.
O Brown has managed to work with artists and producers on the strength of his drive and talent... not bad for a kid who grew up in Midcity, of Belizean- Mexican descent, just a few blocks away from "World on Wheels", where he saw his first hip hop acts.
O Brown has dedicated his life to music, from recording his very 1st song at Smokey Robinson's house in 1998, to dropping his 1st debut album "NEW WEST FREE AGENT", inspiring the people to keep their dreams alive and to overcome fear and any obstacle that comes their way. He strives to be one of the best emcees today.
